“Shell Omala 320” is the ISO VG 320 grade of Shell's Omala EP gear-oil family, now sold as Omala S2 GX 320 (DIN 51517-3 CLP, US Steel 224 per Shell's family data).

Before you switch

If the gearbox OEM mandates DIN 51517-3 (CLP) or micropitting protection, IOCL lists Servomesh Plus (DIN 51517 CLP, AGMA 9005-D95, Flender AG, US Steel 224, David Brown S1.53.101). Ask us for the Plus grade in the same viscosity.

Changeover checklist

Confirm viscosity and the gearbox OEM's performance class (e.g. DIN 51517-3 CLP, AGMA EP, micropitting requirement).
Drain warm, flush heavily sludged boxes, and inspect gear flanks and breathers.
Mineral EP gear oils are normally compatible. Never mix mineral with PAG synthetics.
Refill to the sight-glass mark. Check temperature and noise after the first shift.
