Changeover checklist
- Check the heater's maximum bulk and film temperature against the SERVOtherm grade limit.
- Test the old fluid (viscosity, acid number, flash point, carbon residue). Heavily cracked fluid should be drained and the system flushed.
- Mineral heat-transfer oils of similar type are generally compatible for top-up, but avoid mixing with synthetic (aromatic) fluids.
- After a fresh fill, heat up slowly and vent moisture and light ends through the expansion tank.
