Cement plants combine very slow, very heavily loaded open gears, high-temperature kiln bearings, abrasive dust and continuous operation. The typical failures are girth-gear pitting from lubricant starvation, gearbox wear from dust ingress, and kiln-bearing overheating. Most of them trace back to lubricant choice, application rate or contamination control. That is why a plant lubrication survey pays back quickly in a cement plant.

Cement Plants lubrication – FAQs
“Kiln grease” usually means the adhesive open-gear lubricant used on rotary-kiln and mill girth gears. IOCL lists Servogrease CG 10/20/50 (sprayable, FZG stage 12), Servogrease RN for running-in and Servogrease 300 for priming new gears. Servocoat compounds are listed for kiln tyres.
Typically ISO VG 320 or 460 EP gear oil, as specified by the gearbox OEM: Servomesh SP 320/460, or Servomesh Plus where DIN 51517-3 or micropitting protection is required.
